«Gateway» for entering the East markets

Tomsk companies presented cable conductors and lighting products to Kazakh partners, as well as products for children's creativity - Zephyr kinetic plasticine, slimes (DI Group), SAVA products, devices and solutions of the Dunes IEC.
“The main task of the business mission,” says Yuri Paloson, director of the Center for Subcontracting of the Tomsk CCI, “was the promotion of goods and services of small and medium-sized businesses in our region on the foreign market. In this case, the market of the Republic of Kazakhstan. How is this country interesting for Tomsk entrepreneurs? First of all, our countries are part of a single customs union, which removes many barriers to economic cooperation. Secondly, the Tomsk region and Kazakhstan have quite comfortable logistics. Thirdly, Kazakhstan can serve as a kind of “gateway” for our region for entering the markets of China and the countries of Central Asia.
According to the participants of the business mission, this task was completed, and the trip was very successful. At the b2b negotiations, there was a genuine interest in our enterprises from partners from Kazakhstan. Representatives of our enterprises have shown high professionalism. For example, an employee of the «Sibirskaya mednaya kompaniya» LLC, a cable manufacturing company in Tomsk, organized a seminar for his partners during the trip, where he spoke in detail about his products and technologies. High competencies were demonstrated by representatives of «Novaya khimiya» LLC, «Sibirskaya mednaya kompaniya» LLC, Tomsk-NK OPT LLC, as well as an honorary representative of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A round table was held with the participation of the trade mission of our country to promote Tomsk goods and services on the Kazakhstan market, as well as the development of cooperation between the enterprises of our countries. A meeting of the Tomsk delegation with representatives of business of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the conference hall of the Zhumbaktas Hotel, where a report on the trade and investment potential of the Tomsk Region was presented. Also, the delegation members made presentations on their enterprises.
As part of the business mission, Tomsk citizens visited many industrial enterprises and trading companies of Nur-Sultan: SpetsElektra LLP (plant for the production of components for transformers), Balbobek.kz LLP (the largest children's goods hypermarket), Astana Electrotechnical Plant, BVB LLC Alliance and others.
During the business mission, representatives of Tomsk and Kazakh companies exchanged contacts, held negotiations, and also considered possible options for business cooperation. Kazakh companies expressed a desire to continue business ties with Tomsk colleagues. -
A counter-business mission will be held in November,” Yuri Paloson explains, “in which we plan to attract both participants of the current trip and new enterprises. There have already been requests from Tomsk companies on which Kazakhstani partners they would like to invite to this event."
The participation of Tomsk small and medium-sized enterprises in a business mission to the Republic of Kazakhstan was organized by the Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of the Business Development Fund, the regional department for the development of innovative and entrepreneurial activities and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia as part of a national project for the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
