Interest in products from environmentally friendly raw materials is gaining momentum around the world; Siberian bio-products are in special demand among European and Asian consumers. The other day Tomsk entrepreneurs were able to make sure of this, having established contacts with partners from China, India, Korea and the EU at the largest regional exhibition “BIOFACH INDIA”.
The event took place in New Delhi from November 7 to 9, at the Big Noida exhibition complex. Eco-products of five small and medium-sized enterprises - LLC SibirEkoTrade, IP Sizova N.V., IP Matveev AG, LLC EcoSibir and LLC Sibereko were presented for the first time to the guests of the exhibition in the collective booth of the Tomsk Region.
“The venue of the event annually gathers a huge number of producers and buyers of organic products, there are also representatives of all relevant ministries and departments of India who are interested in the development of this industry,” says Anastasia Mishchenko, specialist of the Center for Foreign Economic Activities of the Tomsk CCI. - Tomsk entrepreneurs participated in “BIOFACH INDIA” for the first time, and, nevertheless, our product line attracted general attention - businessmen established contacts with partners from Poland, Holland, India, Korea, Nepal, China. Visitors were interested in organic food, pine nuts, chaga tea and various herbs, organic textiles, oils and cosmetics based on natural ingredients. The Tomsk booth was of particular interest to Chinese and Indian entrepreneurs, for whom products from Siberia are a sign of high quality.
Directly within the framework of the event, Tomsk businessmen took part in b2b negotiations with representatives of Asian and European companies, as well as with Indian experts on certification of organic goods and the food industry.
“We managed to conduct 25 negotiations, the greatest interest among foreign companies was the production of organic oils, and the possibility of producing Ayurvedic oils based on Indian raw materials was also attractive,” said Natalya Sizova, an entrepreneur from Tomsk.
“Besides, we had a useful contact with representatives of the oil certification authorities in India. Arrangements were reached on the delivery of the first batch of our products - oils and creams, samples of fatty and essential oils, extracts for the manufacture of a trial line of products ordered by the Indian network of beauty salons were obtained."
“We were interested in assessing the potential of the local market for environmentally friendly products and making sure that the interest in this segment of goods from Russia is very high,” says Yana Nikitina, manager for foreign economic activity of SibirEcoTrade LLC. - There is a demand for goods under the brand name “made in Siberia”. Foreign manufacturers value products made from organically pure raw materials, which is why our exporters working in this field have enormous potential for implementing ambitious business plans. We managed to reach verbal agreements with partners from Nepal, Poland, India, and now we intend to develop the contacts we received until full-fledged business cooperation."
“Yes, partners from China and India today offer the abundant options for business cooperation,” confirms Alexey Matveev, an individual entrepreneur from Tomsk. “We have had effective negotiations with many Asian firms, and we hope that they will lead to profitable deals. I am glad that the event is open to European consumers, as a result of which we have the opportunity to develop ties in two directions - East and West."
According to the general opinion of the Tomsk participants of the exhibition, the results of such trips can be a “happy ticket” for manufacturers of our eco-products. Moreover, far from everything that Siberian nature has to offer has been demonstrated here this year. Pine nuts and taiga honey, healthy herbs and oils, mushrooms and berries - we have something to attract the most demanding foreign partners.
The participation of Tomsk companies in the BIOFACH INDIA exhibition was organized as part of the national project “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and the Support of Individual Entrepreneurship Initiatives” of the Tomsk CCI together with the Business Development Fund, with the support of the administration of the Tomsk Region, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia as part of the events of the Export Support Center.
