Vasiliy Potemkin, Deputy Governor for investment policy and property relations, told the participants of roundtable discussion “INDIA: new markets, new opportunities” about the current relations and promising areas of Tomsk-Indian cooperation.
India's role as a Russia's trade partner is strengthening. The development of trade infrastructure contributes to its growth, namely, enabling payments in national currencies and creating new transport corridors. Now India is not only a sales market full of potential but also a source of prioritized imports which is crucial while supply chains are changing.
The roundtable participants discussed the features of searching and verifying the Indian counterparties, the opportunity of direct mutual settlements, participating in Indian tenders, changing the methods of the Federal Customs Service, shipping goods to and from India, as well as alternative shipping routes to South Asia and the Persian Gulf, and a number of other issues.
Alexander Belyaev, head of the Export Support Center, described the state support mechanisms for businessmen to enter the Indian market.
