A delegation from Sber led by Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of Sber's Management Board, visited Tomsk State University. The meeting with TSU Rector Eduard Galazhinsky and scientists focused on the results of the Siberian Artificial Intelligence Research Center, created by the university in collaboration with Sber. The parties also planned to implement a number of joint projects in AI technologies.

The center began operating in the spring of 2023 and is currently working on about 10 research projects aimed at solving socially important problems in the region and the university.

During the visit, TSU presented solutions for documents verification in the forestry, business plan generation and evaluation, as well as an AI tool for labor market analysis. This tool could also be used for human capital development by profiling students' skills and competencies.

“You have good solutions for addressing current problems. Profiling tool would also be useful for us to assess the skills of young specialists joining Sber. Higher and additional education provide us with a lot of information about the job applicant, but the diploma cannot provide us with information about the job applicant's personality: hard and soft skills, personality type. This is necessary to assign the right position for each job applicant, so they will be able to perform their best. This is why we are interested in the proposed solution, and we are ready to support this project and develop it together,” said Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of Sber's Management Board.

“This solution can actually be even more comprehensive: it will allow us to assess the personal value matrix as well. We are always strive to develop soft skills of our students, because it is very important for the university. I think that corporations also have a demand for such assessments and our IT product will be implemented by these corporations,” said Eduard Galazhinsky, TSU Rector.

TSU also introduced a new project, called the Big Data and AI Engineering Center, which aims to create new solutions in education.

The participants also discussed the prospects of new joint projects, in particular, using the GigaChat neural network model during the educational process.

This visit will contribute to the expansion of joint fundamental and practical research, with the goal of creating breakthrough technologies and products in AI technologies.
