Tomsk small and medium-sized businesses have signed 246 export contracts in 5 years . The total amount of transactions exceeded 2.3 billion rubles.
Tomsk small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) have signed export contracts worth more than 2.3 billion rubles over the past 5 years thanks to the national project "Small and Medium-sized Businesses ". In 2024, the companies have found new partners in Costa Rica, Spain, Malaysia, India and Iran, the press service of the Regional Export Support Center told TASS.
"Thanks to the national project's activities, Tomsk SMBs have concluded 246 export contracts worth more than 2.3 billion rubles, and companies from 56 countries have become importers of Tomsk products and solutions," the message says. As the press service clarified to TASS, this applies to the period from 2019 to 2024.
It is noted that the regional export support system ensures an annual increase in the number of exporters- SMBs. If in 2014 there were 88 of them in the region, today there are more than 540. The companies were able to enter new markets and began to supply software to Costa Rica and Spain, non-destructive testing devices to Malaysia and India, and timber industry products to Iran.
"Our region annually fulfills the national project indicators, the average efficiency was 29 rubles of supported export per 1 ruble of federal budget subsidy. This, in turn, means that 1 ruble of subsidy for the Export Support Center activities provides a return to the regional budget of about 1.5 rubles," the statement quoted the head of the Tomsk Export Support Center, Alexander Belyaev, as saying.
The region also sees great potential in developing the export of creative industries.: This is everything related to the design, production of educational products and goods for children. Tomsk companies that specialize in products using new materials, oil and gas equipment, and engineering services for industrial enterprises, as well as the development and manufacture of high-tech equipment, have traditionally been strong.
"The complexities of modern world trade do not stop Tomsk exporters. Companies are still ready to participate in international exhibitions and business missions to present their products and services to foreign partners. Companies have already applied to participate in exhibitions in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, the United Arab Emirates, India, and business missions to Azerbaijan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Vietnam," the report says.
